Recycled Fabric Products with a Purpose

Dragon Lady Handicrafts has been a market vendor since 2002, specializing in practical and attractive hand-sewn items.

Using mostly recycled materials, I make a wide variety of items including colorful strip-quilted totes, multi-pocket passport purses, cell phone and Kindle carrying cases and a variety of insulated bottle and latte wraps available in a rainbow of designs.

By customer request, I’ve added tortilla/bread warmers, made in a diversity of fabrics, mainly vibrant Southwest colors and themes.

A similar and popular item are microwave spud sacks,  for more of an oven-baked texture when cooking potatoes in the microwave.

There is a selection of double eyeglass cases, for carrying 2 pairs at once or for carrying one and a cell phone, along with a thin, also padded style for reading glasses.

Again by customer request, now have dish totes, lightly padded casserole dish carriers, including both round ones for pies or personal dishes, and the square style, which holds much larger items, such as a 9/13 cake pan.

Then there’s the reversible baby quilts, wheel chair totes, cloth-covered notebooks, and yet more.

Customer comments include, “So very well made!”,  “Most practical”, and “You always have such neat stuff!”

Rock chimes/ mobiles, made primarily from local beach combings, add melodic sounds to the display.
